George Thompson has helped people grow for the last 35 years. He has owned his own business and knows many of the issues that businesspersons face. He has worked with businesspersons, individuals, marriages, and families in growth and development.
He was Director of Chaplains at Hermann Hospital (now Memorial-Hermann) followed by being the first Director of the Center for Counseling. He then started his practice of individual, marriage and family therapy. He later began two counseling businesses before he added coaching to his business.
George grew up in a business family in Virginia where his father owned several Goodyear stores in the southwestern part of Virginia . George worked in this family business for several years before entering the people business as a minister.
During his ministry years, George has always had a deep interest in business and his leadership in many areas demonstrated this ministry/business connection. He believes in a positive, challenging, nurturing approach to growth and development to the highest levels of achievement.
George has enjoyed encouraging and engaging start up business executives to learn new paths that push the success process to exciting realities.
George works diligently with individuals and companies to set personal goals that are in reach. He is deeply interested in each person understanding their own or their company's Mission Statement. If you have not developed this mission statement, George will focus on this until it is very clear to all concerned.
George Thompson knows that no person or company can achieve their goals without the help of other persons. George's long training in counseling has taught him how to help you work with others. When an individual or company violates good human relations, they set up failure instead of success. The emphasis is to work with integrity and honesty as you relate to meeting your potential.
Education
George received his Master of Theology from Texas Christian University in 1963 and a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1961. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
